Functional aspects on cello making

Work will be done on instruments brought by the participants

Discussion on all the subjects related to the functional aspects, through the specific cases of each professional and each instrument provided.

These functional aspects could cover:

• Arching
• Thicknesses
• Bass bar
• Neck
• Fingerboard
• Nut
• Set up:
  • Bridge
  • Soundpost
  • Strings
  • Tailpiece

Date: 31st of January to the 2nd of february 2020. Friday to Sunday

Languaje: English / Italian

Course fee: 400€

Materials needed: Violoncello in any stage of construction.

The necessary tools to do the work related to the content, construction, assembly or set up.

Duration: 21 hours

Timetable: Thursday to Saturday 9:00-13:00/ 14:30-17:30 and Sunday 9:00-15:00.

Accommodation: Bilbao has a wide lodging offer. However, we have made an agreement with “Colegio Mayor Miguel de Unamuno” hall of residence or students dorm (just in front of our school- see map-) to accommodate the participants in our workshops. All rooms are single or double and there will be a discount if a group of more than ten people ask for a place there.
