BELE in Cremona Mondomusica 2015
Last 18th to 21st of september, BELE, the Basque Violin Making School, paid a visit to Cremona Mondomusica 2015. Part of the students did also go there, some to visit the famous town for the first time and to enjoy the exhibition and the atmosphere in town.
The visit to Mondomusica served the double porpousse of getting to know the latest innovations in the violin making field and meeting other makers an schools.
On the way to Cremona part of the BELE staff stopped at the Civica Scuola di Liuteria di Milano to get first hand information about the school and meet the teaching body. Once in Mondomusica, they also had the oportunity to meet ther teachers from the Scuola Internazionale di Liuteria di Parma.
As part of the Working Practices the students in BELE have to fulfill, the teachers took the opportunity to meet some makers working in different parts of Europe as well as some other who have their workshops in Cremona.
They also met Stradivariazione, a society working to promote contemporary violin making, whose site is in the house Antonio Stradivari lived with his first wife.
At the end, all these meetings have strengthened old friendships and has sparked new ideas that will benefit us all in a near future.
